Why you might pay for private care or support
You might decide to pay for your own care or support such as:
- help around the house, sometimes called domiciliary care
- support accessing the community and activities, such as personal assistants
- short breaks - sometimes called respite care
Finding a provider
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates health and social care.
You can search for care or support providers on the CQC website.
Make sure to check:
- they are a registered provider
- their inspection report
This will help you decide whether they are a provider you wish to employ.
