Who can access free school transport
Many children can receive free home to school transport.
This could be because of a special educational need or a disability. It could also be for other reasons such as how far they live from school.

Travel Training
Travel Training is free for students and adults who live in Essex. They must receive one of the following from Essex County Council:
- free home to school transport
- post-16 transport
- social care transport
The training covers:
- confidence in using buses or trains
- personal safety
- how to use timetables and buy tickets
- road safety, including how to cope with traffic on major roads
- what to do when things go wrong (for example, if the bus is late)
