The role of the education setting
The school may be able to offer support by:
- leading sessions with passenger assistants and drivers to explain school site arrangements and general passenger needs
- providing awareness sessions for passenger assistants regarding specific passengers
- consulting with the transport provider regarding the proposed mix of passengers allocated to each vehicle
- working with the transport provider to confirm/update the transport requirements of individual passengers
- providing information to families
- assisting with new arrangements for September where necessary
- working closely with the transport provider during the first few weeks of the contract to iron out initial issues
