We carried out an online research activity called tree testing. We found that participants found some of the wording confusing or unclear, including:
- high support needs
- emotionally based school avoidance
- education providers
Response
We changed the language, for example:
- the section called high support needs was changed to Education Health and Care Plans
- instead of emotionally based school avoidance, we used the term school attendance difficulties
- education providers, was changed to education and childcare options
