Help with low level mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression

How it can help

The Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing team is a short term early intervention team made up of social workers, support workers and an employment specialist.

They work with people who are experiencing low level mental health problems such as anxiety, stress and depression which are causing a social care need. 

They can work with you over a period of 3 to 6 months, or sooner, to enable you improve your mental health so you can achieve your goals. Help includes:

  • one-to-one support
  • self-help advice and guidance
  • signposting to support for issues affecting your wellbeing, such as debt or a physical health
  • employment specialist help
  • help accessing social groups in your area
  • support for carers
  • men’s group for those who would like to gain a better understanding of their mental health

Age

18+

Eligibility

You can refer yourself if you:

  • live in Essex
  • are aged between 18 and 65
  • have mental health concerns
  • feel emotionally distressed
  • have a social care issue, or care for someone who does
