Beat: Compass

Compass is a coaching programme for carers of young people (aged 12-17) who have been recently diagnosed with an eating disorder (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and OSFED) and are yet to start treatment.

How it can help

The aim of Compass is for carers to gain a stronger insight into eating disorders and to understand their role within their young person's journey to recovery. 

Carers will receive a 50 minute video call every week for 10 weeks by a trained programme officer. 

Age

Parents and carers of a young person aged 12 - 17 years

Eligibility

Young person is aged between 12 and 17 and is within the first two years of becoming unwell and has not started treatment for their eating disorder at the time of programme commencement. 

The young person has a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder or OSFED (Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder)
