A secondary school with an Autism Support Centre (ASC). An ASC is an Enhanced Provision for autistic pupils funded by the Local Authority.
How it can help
The Bromfords School provide enhanced provision for autistic children at their Autism Support Centre (ASC). The ASC provides funded places for up to 15 pupils to help them access the mainstream school.
Pupils are supported by a dedicated team of staff. The staff team work with children, young people and their families and carers to:
- reduce barriers and help pupils access mainstream education in the school
- provide an adapted support offer starting where the young person is at in their development

11 to 16
Eligibility
The child or young person must:
- have a diagnosis of autism
- have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) with the main category of autism
- be cognitively able to access mainstream education with appropriate support
How to access
Requests for a place at the ASC are considered by the Local Authority autism panel following the annual review process.
