A national charity providing the latest audiobooks to people who find reading a printed book difficult.

How it can help

They make books and stories accessible to people who find reading print difficult because of a learning difference, long term health condition or disability. This includes: 

  • visual impairment
  • arthritis
  • dyslexia
  • autism
  • ADHD
  • other physical and neurological conditions

Calibre Audio members have:

  • access to over 17,500 books,  including over 3,000 children’s titles
  • new titles added every week
  • a variety of books, from classics to the latest bestsellers
  • multiple ways to listen: streaming, downloading or using a USB memory stick
  • regular newsletters, reading suggestions, podcasts and other audio content
  • a dedicated membership services team to help you get the most out of your membership

Eligibility

No referral or medical evidence required. 

You will need to confirm that the person has a qualifying print disability when signing up. This includes any special educational need, health condition or disability that affects their ability to read print.

Cost

Membership is free for children and young adults 0 to 25 years with SEND living in the UK.

 Adults aged 25 and above can access the service for £30 per year.
