Changing Places Toilets

Changing Places toilets are for people who need extra equipment and space to use toilets safely and comfortably. This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and physical disabilities (such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis)

How it can help

Changing Places toilets are different from standard disabled toilets. They have extra features and more space to meet the needs of people who use them. Each Changing Places toilet provides:

  • a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench
  • ceiling track hoist system
  • space in the changing area for the disabled person and up to two carers
  • centrally placed toilet with room either side
  • a screen or curtain to allow some privacy
  • wide tear off paper roll to cover the bench
  • large waste bin for disposable pads
  • Back rest on toilet seat
  • non-slip floor.
