Columbus School & College provides an educational setting over two sites for children with severe learning difficulties and profound & multiple learning difficulties.
Columbus School offers a specialist learning environment, motor therapy suites and sensory rooms to support teaching and learning.
Columbus School provides support from a variety of professionals and therapists including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Music Therapists, Physiotherapists and specialist teachers who support young people with visual, hearing or multi-sensory impairments.
Columbus is a day school. It does not have residential facilities.

3 to 19
Eligibility
To apply to a special school, a pupil must have:
- an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- complex, high needs that cannot be met in a mainstream setting.
How to access
Pupils are placed at The Columbus School and College by the Local Authority through the EHCP process.
For a child to be admitted, the school must be named, by their home local authority, in the child’s Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
