Disabled Persons Railcard

A railcard that offers discounted fares to the user and their accompanying adult.

How it can help

The Disabled Persons Railcard is for people with a disability that makes travelling by train difficult. 

Benefits of the railcard include:

  • saving 1/3 off train travel all year round
  • using for travel at any time of the day
  • being able to travel with one adult companion, and they will also save 1/3 on their fare
  • linking with an Oyster Card to get 1/3 off travel around London

Age

Open to all.

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you:

  • receive Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
  • receive Disability Living Allowance (DLA) 
    • the higher or lower rate for the mobility component, or
    • the higher or middle rate for the care component
  • have a visual impairment
  • have a hearing impairment
  • have epilepsy
  • receive Attendance Allowance or Severe Disablement Allowance
  • receive War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement
  • receive War or Service Disablement Pension for 80% or more disability
  • buy or lease a vehicle through the Mobility scheme

How to access

The railcard can be purchased via the website, through telesales or by completing the form available on the website.

Proof that you qualify for the Disabled Persons Railcard must be provided.
