How it can help
The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service is made up of a collection of different professionals, including health visitors, school nurses, and healthy family support workers. They support the growth and development of children.
Support during pregnancy and the first five years
Support offered includes:
- health visiting
- growth and development assessments
School aged support
Support offered includes:
- confidential drop-in sessions in every secondary school for young people to discuss any health or wellbeing concerns
- community drop-in sessions at our Family Hubs and Delivery sites for parents or young people
- school readiness and transitions
- support on common childhood issues, such as bed wetting, diet, exercise, sleep and emotional wellbeing
- individualised health needs assessments
Family support
Support offered includes:
- behaviour support including boundary and routines
- child development
- toileting
- sleep
- getting out and about
- connecting with people in your community
- healthy lifestyles
- emotional wellbeing
Groups, activities and workshops
Each Family Hub has its own designated timetable of activities which are delivered in their hubs, delivery sites and in the community. Activities and groups may include:
- drop-in play sessions
- childminder drop-in and play
- SEND play sessions
- Home-Start family group
Workshops and advice may include:
- weaning
- sleep
- early language and communication
- typical toddler behaviour
- toilet training
Age
Parents, carers and children aged 0 to 19 or aged up to 25 with SEND.
Eligibility
All children and young people and their parents or carers residing in Essex.
