A primary school with additional support for autistic children
How it can help
Hamford Primary Academy provide enhanced provision for autistic children at their Autism Support Centre, The Ark.
The purpose-built provision provides for up to 8 high functioning pupils aged 4 to 11 years to enable them to access mainstream provision.
Pupils follow the Autism Education Framework curriculum and work in both the Ark setting as well as the mainstream classrooms. The Ark benefits from a prime location within the school grounds, with a specialist Autism garden area, complete with sensory and soft play rooms.
