How it can help
The continence service provides assessment, treatment, support and advice to children and young people with bladder and bowel problems including:
- daytime wetting, from 4 years old
- night time wetting, from 5 years old
- constipation and soiling, from 4 years old
- delayed toileting, from age 2 years old where it is known or anticipated the child may have difficulties with toileting
Age
In clinic support services are offered for children and young people aged 4 to 18 including:
- daytime wetting, from 4 years old
- night time wetting, from 5 years old
- constipation and soiling, from 4 years old
- delayed toileting, from age 2 years old where it is known or anticipated the child may have difficulties with toileting.
Advice, support and early intervention from 18 months upwards.
Eligibility
Children and young people who are registered with a Mid or South Essex GP.
How to access
Referrals are accepted from GPs, health visitors, school nurses and paediatricians.

The telephone line is staffed 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday. There is a 24 hour voicemail facility.
