Offers advice and support for children and young people who have a physical disability or a condition that impacts on their development and their functional daily activities
How it can help
The Children's Occupational Therapy team work with children and young people. They focus on developing their ability to carry out activities they need or want to do in their daily life. These might include:
- self-care activities such as using a toilet, getting washed and dressed or using cutlery
- leisure activities such as playing with friends and family
- productivity activities such as going to school or nursery
The service is based at the Lighthouse Child Development centre. Sessions are provided at the most appropriate venue for the child or young person. This may include home visits, nursery visits or school visits.

0 to 18
Eligibility
Children aged 0 to 18 registered with a GP in Southend, Castlepoint or Rochford
How to access
The following professionals can make referrals to the service:
- Healthcare professionals
- Special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs) or teachers
- Early Support Workers
