Offers physiotherapy advice and support for children and young people who have a physical disability or a condition that impacts on their development and their functional daily activities

How it can help

The Children's Physiotherapy team are a specialist service. They provide treatment for children and young people who are referred and present with difficulties in the following areas:

  • Congenital disorders
  • Movement and coordination disorders
  • Developmental delay
  • Neuromuscular conditions
  • Neurological disorders
  • Rheumatology
  • Musculoskeletal/orthopaedic
  • Oncology
  • Transition into adult services

They are based at the Lighthouse Child Development Centre. They provide support at the most appropriate venue. This may include at home, school or nursery.

0 to 18

Eligibility

Children aged 0 to 18 registered with a GP in Southend, Castlepoint or Rochford

How to access

The following professionals can make referrals to the service:

  • Healthcare professionals
  • Special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs) or teachers
  • Early Support Workers
