NHS - Children's Physiotherapy - Castlepoint, Rochford and Southend

Offers physiotherapy advice and support for babies, children and young people who have a physical disability or a condition that impacts on their development and their functional daily activities

How it can help

The Children's Physiotherapy team are a specialist service. They provide treatment for babies, children and young people from birth to 18. They offer support for those who are referred and present with difficulties in the following areas:

  • Congenital disorders
  • Movement and coordination disorders
  • Developmental delay
  • Neuromuscular conditions
  • Neurological disorders
  • Rheumatology
  • Musculoskeletal/orthopaedic
  • Oncology
  • Transition into adult services

They are based at the Lighthouse Child Development Centre. They provide support at the most appropriate venue. This may include at home, school or nursery.

0 to 18

Eligibility

Children aged 0 to 18 registered with a GP in Southend, Castlepoint or Rochford

How to access

The following professionals can make referrals to the service:

  • Healthcare professionals
  • Special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs) or teachers
  • Early Support Workers
