NHS - Children’s Specialist School Nursing - West Essex

A team of specialist nurses that work in special schools helping children with complex health needs.

How it can help

The specialist school nurses support with:

  • training staff in the school to perform tasks such as giving medicines, epilepsy care, tube feeding and catheterisation
  • care planning and supporting clinical assessments
  • continence
  • annual health reviews
  • transition to adult services

They also support parents and carers with issues related to their child's health and wellbeing. This could include continence, diet, communication and self help skills.

Your child must attend a special school in West Essex (Harlow Fields School and College, Oak View School or Wells Park School).
