How it can help

The Wheelchair Service provides equipment to those with long term mobility needs. Equipment provided includes:

  • manual wheelchairs
  • indoor powered wheelchairs
  • indoor/outdoor wheelchairs
  • buggies
  • pressure care cushions

Those with more complex needs may be referred to special seating or have a specialist seating company supply equipment.

Eligibility

Children and young people aged 3 to 26 registered with a GP in Southend, Castlepoint or Rochford

The following professionals can make referrals to the service:

  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • GPs
  • other medical professionals
