Provides a helpline for anyone who is concerned about a child, but also has lots of helpful services and information available for parents and carers.

How it can help

The website provides detailed information on a range of subjects around parenting such as;

  • how to cope with tantrums
  • mental health and parenting 
  • separation and divorce 
  • talking about difficult topics including drugs, alcohol, underwear and racism 

NSPCC also provide services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children. There are several projects and services including;

  • Building Blocks - helps parents develop practical skills and ways to cope with the pressures of bringing up a child
  • A programme which supports parents who are on a drug or alcohol treatment programme, helping them to stay on track

The NSPCC helpline can also help answer questions such as;

  • right age to leave a child home alone
  • how to keep children safe online
  • how to support children's mental and emotional wellbeing
  • other advice and support around children
