SEND Careers Advice Service

The SEND Careers Advice Service helps young people get ready for adult life.

How it can help

Formerly known as the Preparing for Adulthood Team, the SEND Careers Advice Service give young people information, advice, and guidance about their options. They ensure they have the information they need to make decisions about their future.

For example after leaving school they could go to college, apply for an apprenticeship, or look for a job. The SEND Careers Advisor will ask the young person and others who know them well what they like and what they are good at.

Age

14 to 25

Eligibility

A young person aged 14 to 25 with SEND who has a current Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Higher Needs Funding.

How to access

If you have an EHCP, when you start year 9, a SEND Careers advisor will write to you to introduce themselves.

From year 10, your advisor will meet with you to explore your options and paths you might take.
