Renew offer low cost, and sometimes funded, counselling to children, young people and adults

How it can help

Renew Counselling offer a variety of services focused on mental health and well-being.

The team can support with a wide range of challenges. Some of the areas include:

  • using play and art to communicate
  • eating disorders
  • identity issues
  • anxiety and depression
  • anger, bullying and conflict
  • divorce or separation of parents
  • self-harm and emotional distress
  • healing from abuse or other trauma
  • relationship difficulties
  • loss, bereavement and change
  • feeling overwhelmed or stuck
  • self-esteem and confidence

This isn't a complete list. If you are struggling with something else, get in touch with the team. They can listen and help. 

Most counselling sessions are delivered in person, with the option of online where appropriate.

Cost

The cost of a counselling session is approximately £50 but in many cases this can be subsidised.  

Fully funded counselling is available for:

  • children and young people who live in Brentwood and Basildon through the NHS
  • young people aged 17 and above with, or at risk of, an eating disorder who live in Braintree, Maldon and Chelmsford
  • children and young people aged 11 to 25 struggling with disordered eating who live in Chelmsford, Basildon and Brentwood centres. 

There are also fully funded drop-in sessions for parents and carers of those struggling with an eating disorder who live in Chelmsford, Basildon and Brentwood.
