Shorefields works with children and young people with a range of complex, severe and profound learning needs, including a high percentage with autism.
Shorefields School has specialist facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, an independent living flat, soft play, a thrive room, sensory integration rooms and a sensory garden.
Pupils have access to a wide range of therapies and specialist interventions, including Thrive, sensory integration therapy, Theraplay, music therapy, speech and language therapy and physical therapies.
Shorefields School is a day school. It does not have residential facilities.

3 to 19
Eligibility
To apply to a special school, a pupil must have:
- an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- complex, high needs that cannot be met in a mainstream setting.
How to access
Pupils are placed at Shorefields School by the Local Authority through the EHCP process.
For a child to be admitted, the school must be named, by their home local authority, in the child’s Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
