How it can help
Thriftwood School and College works with children and young people who have moderate learning difficulties - including multiple and complex needs - such as autism, speech, language and social communication difficulties.
Specialist staff have training in autism, speech and language, Zones of Regulation, Trauma Perceptive Practice and Forest School. Thriftwood works with external providers for training including Speech and Occupational Therapists, counselling and Music Therapy.
Thriftwood School and College is a day school. It does not have residential facilities.

7 to 19
Eligibility
To apply to a special school, a pupil must have:
- an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- complex, high needs that cannot be met in a mainstream setting.
How to access
Pupils are placed at Thriftwood School and College by the Local Authority through the EHCP process.
For a child to be admitted, the school must be named, by their home local authority, in the child’s Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
