Cambridge Dons Goalball Club

A Cambridge goalball club played by blind and partially sighted people.

How it can help

Goalball is a paralympic team sport for blind and partially sighted people. The club gives visually impaired children and young people a chance to play a team sport. The members are aged 14 to 50 and everyone wears shades to level the playing field.

They are a friendly, welcoming club that loves new members. It's run by and for blind and partially sighted people. They provide a sense of community both on and off the court. Also, offering informal mentoring through social interactions facilitated by club members.

Age

14+ 

Players under 14 can join a training session. They will assess their safety for participation individually.

Eligibility

Open to those who can independently go from being on the floor to standing. Players of any level of sight play goalball as all players wear shades, putting players on the same level.

Cost

The first three sessions are free. Then it’s £5 per session or an annual membership fee of £80 for under 18s, students, or unemployed individuals. For those 18 and older who are employed, the membership fee is £100. 

Annual fees can be paid in installments.
