How it can help

The Children's Dietetics Service can help children and young people to:

  • choose foods that are healthy for you
  • eat and drink safely
  • understand how food choices affect your health
  • become more involved in your food choices

They also teach carers and other people involved in a child or young person's life how to help that child or young person to make good food choices.

Age

0 to 18 or up to 19 years if in a North East Essex Special School

Eligibility

Children and young people with severe learning disabilities who attend a specialist education setting in North East Essex

How to access

Referrals are accepted from school nurses, GPs, community pediatricians, acute pediatricians and outpatient services, social care and other allied health professionals.
