How it can help

The Occupational Therapy Team offers assessment, advice and support for children and young people whose condition, symptoms or difficulties impact on their everyday function and development.


Where needed this could include assessment for specialist equipment to support:

  • postural management at home or school
  • hospital discharge
  • palliative care
  • the management of short-term conditions such as after surgery

Age

0 to 18 or up to 19 years if in a West Essex Special School

Eligibility

Children and young people registered with a GP in the Mid Essex area with a West Essex GP

How to access

You need to get a referral from a professional to access this.

Referrals will be accepted from:

  • GPs
  • Healthy Family Team (e.g. Health Visitors, School Health Nurses)
  • Acute and community paediatric health services
  • SENCOs in educational settings
  • Children's Social Care and Preventative Services
