Shared Lives Service

The scheme provides accommodation and support, or regular stays or visits, with an approved Shared Lives Host

How it can help

Essex Shared Lives provides adults the opportunity to learn new skills, become more active and live more meaningful lives.

The scheme matches the adult with a fully trained and assessed host.

In Shared Lives, the adult moves in with the host who will share their home, interests and life skills with the adult receiving support.

Age

18+

Eligibility

People aged 18 and over who have care and support needs

How to access

To be supported by Shared Lives, the adult needs to be referred by a professional, for example a Social Worker, or contact the scheme directly to get more information about how to be supported.

Once Essex Shared Lives learn of a new referral, a few steps need to be followed to onboard the adult in the scheme. If you would like to learn more about the next steps, please contact Essex Shared Lives via phone or email.
